A million years in the making, Sobhengu Lodge is a nature lover’s treasure-trove and offers the rare opportunity to luxuriate amidst a spectacular mosaic of land forms, ranging from Savannah through to wetland and-ocean. Millions of years of gentle abrasion by wind and water has painstakingly moulded a unique landscape, which harbors the most sensitive and diverse flora and fauna within its myriad of ecosystems. Perched on the peninsula of Lake St Lucia, the Lodge offers guests a chance to immerse themselves in the peace and tranquility of its unique, exquisitely appointed self-catering chalets. In fact, it is so remote, it can only be accessed by 4WD or boat.
Built above a sand forest, the chalets are hidden amongst the trees and connected by raised wooden walkways. Tarzan, eat your heart out! Talking of eating, the resort’s restaurant offers a menu as superb as the views from your table. Relax by the pool with a delicious sun downer and marvel at the exhilarating views of the lake o,r for the more adventurous, hiking and quad-bike trails provide the opportunity to discover the remains of fossilized flora and fauna dating back six million years. The unspoiled wilderness area of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park is the very heart of South Africa’s premier big game, scuba diving and fishing destination. Surrounded by water on three sides, there are excellent lake and salt-water fly fishing opportunities. Sobhengu Lodge may be far from the madding crowd. But it’s very close to perfection.
There are guided walking trails in and outside the property. Guided quad bike trails in and outside the property. Jungle gym, swings and trampoline and braai area at entertainment area. Games for rainy days at reception. Laundry service.Car wash service. Low risk malaria area. Only some units have a TV.
General:All complaints regarding resorts should be directed to the resorts itself and Timeshare Sentinel will not be held liable for any complaints regarding the quality of accommodation, services, facilities and any other complaints relevant to the resort. The providers of the accommodation on the Timeshare Sentinel website are independent bodies and not agents or employees of Timeshare Sentinel. Timeshare Sentinel will not refund in the event of double reservations, strike, force majeure (hurricanes,flooding, earthquake, etc.) or other causes beyond their direct control(disruptions in water supply, power outages etc.), and will have no responsibility for any additional expense, omissions, delays, re-routing or acts of any government or authority. The user shall be bound by the resort rules and the use agreement applicable between the member/shareholder and the Resort/Share block/Points Club. Timeshare Sentinel will not be held responsible for any incorrect information supplied with regards to the resort not due to Timeshare Sentinel’s negligence. The resort reserves the right to refuse admittance if the booking confirmation letter is not produced, or if the number of persons exceeds that shown on the confirmation letter/unit configuration. Persons allowed include children of all ages. Check-in will only be allowed on presentation of a valid confirmation letter and corresponding guest ID (Member Reservations & Guest Certificates). Timeshare Sentinel does not take responsibility for any accommodation purchased from a second or third party or incorrect information supplied by a second/third party. On selling of Timeshare Sentinel inventory is strictly prohibited which will result in termination of membership as well as cancellation of all reservations with full forfeiture of amounts paid.
All guests going to Sobhengu also have to check in at Nibela. Sobhengu Lodge has its own 10-seater boat that will collect you from the jetty at False Bay Park, where secure undercover parking is available to guests. Unit Assignment: The resort has the right to assign a different unit of the same occupancy to the one originally allocated. Should a unit number not appear on your reservation letter, one will be assigned to you by the resort on arrival.
